As a vegetarian there are 2 mineral and nutrients that you'll need to be aware of . These are vitamin B12 and Iron. Natural vitamin B12 can only be found in anmial products such as meat, fish, eggs and dairy. So if you choose not to eat dairy or eggs you'll need to rely on syntetic vitamin B12. This can be found in fortified cereals, plant based altenatives like soya milk and yesst extract such as marmite. The other mineral that you'll need to be aware of is iron. There are 2 different types of iron;heme iron which is found in meat and non-heme iron which is found in plants. Non-heme iron is more difficult for our bodies to absorb so it is best to eat it with something that is high in vitamin C since this helps significantly to increase with iron absorption. Beans, pulses and legumes are great choice of meat replacemnts as they are naturally high in iron, protein carbs, and fibre.<\/p>
